Music in the Park Series presents Daedalus Quartet with Lydia Artymiw, piano, Sunday April 26, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. (note time)

I n less than a decade, the Daedalus—Min-Young Kim & Kyu-Young Kim, violins; Jessica Thompson (Twin Cities native), viola; and Raman Ramakrishnan, cello—has rocketed to the upper reaches of chamber performance groups. Grand Prize winner of the 2001 Banff International String Quartet Competition and recipient of the 2007 Guarneri Quartet Residency Award, the Daedalus serves as Columbia University’s Quartet-in-Residence. For our season finale, the quartet will perform a new work, Song without Borders, composed for them by Minnesotan Steve Heitzeg. Lydia Artymiw, who holds the McKnight Distinguished Professorship of Music at the University of Minnesota, joins the Daedalus for the Brahms Piano Quintet in F-minor. Pre-concert discussion 3:00 P.M.

Supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest
