“These players make music with passionate
conviction… an example of the special joy
musicians exude when minds and instruments
connect on the highest level.” — Cleveland Plain Dealer
In its 25-year artistic collaboration, the Cavani String Quartet has garnered most of the
major chamber music accolades, including the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and
the first Guarneri String Quartet Residency Award from Chamber Music America.
Quartet-in-Residence at the Cleveland Institute of Music since 1988, the Cavanis return
to Music in the Park Series for a four-day residency, culminating in a concert of works
by Syzmanovski and Mendelssohn, along with Dvorak’s “American” quartet.
This activity is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnestoa State Arts Board, through an
appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund with money from
the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
