Known for its electrifying musicianship and mastery of technique, the Shanghai Quartet traverses musical genres, from traditional Chinese folk music and masterpieces of Western repertoire, to cutting edge contemporary works. For its Music in the Park Series program, the Shanghai will recap its 2009 premiere of Penderecki’s String Quartet No. 3, in addition to arrangements of Chinese folk songs and Schubert’s Quartet in D minor “Death and the Maiden.”
